The Solars are a transmedia fiction. They unfold in different art forms such as exhibitions, events in public space, writings and video. Initially imagined by Garance (Antoine Cathalau), several artists participate to it, developing a multi-disciplinary vision of the future.
Antoine Cathalau alias Garance is an interdisciplinary artist-author from France. He studied literature, then cinema and screenwriting. Attracted by new formats, by new experiences, he practiced writing, photography, theater, cinema, then multimedia and the web.
With the Solars, he develops the story of a fictional networked republic, to tell this new society being created, to transmit it to the widest possible audience. He thus invents a narrative art that encourages open-mindedness, non-duality, and the overcoming of borders. Among other mediums, he uses AI (which he renames Collective Intelligence) to create “sensitive aggregates”, according to Deleuze’s formula.
Explorartist and inventor, member of the Jules Verne family, Claire Pichelin aka Hypathie is from Nantes. Eclectic artist and explorer of disciplines, she touches on everything: sculpture, urban plant installations, video art, digital art, painting. Her background is initially theoretical with a solid training in art history and philosophy. Then gradually as her research and experiments on materials and their properties progressed, she creates installations and sculptures. She is part of the art of remediation of the environment and the psyche.
